More fall color is beginning to appear in the Appalachian Mountains, particularly in western Maryland, eastern West Virginia and western Virginia. These locations, along with isolated portions of western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee, are reporting moderate color (31% - 60% change). Elsewhere in the region, color change is mostly low (11% - 30% change).
Leaf drop is mostly very low, with low amounts in the higher elevations.
