Company Mission and History
The Foliage Network, founded in 1999, was developed to help travelers interested in the fall foliage. Every fall, millions of travelers from around the world travel to foliage hot-spots in the United States to view the spectacular colors. The Foliage Network uses real data from our network of spotters to produce foliage reports twice per week.
During the early years of The Foliage Network, our focus was on the Northeast United States. Due to heavy demand, in 2001, we expanded our coverage area to include portions of the Southeast and Upper Midwest United States. The Foliage Network currently reports on the foliage in 16 states.
During the months of September, October and November, The Foliage Network produces foliage reports for three regions of the United States (Northeast, Southeast and Upper Midwest). The reports are created using data gathered from our network of spotters in 16 states. The reports are comprised of two maps, foliage color and leaf drop, as well as a narrative that highlights the foliage conditions.
