October 26, 2011
The foliage season is rapidly coming to a close. The only areas still showing abundant color include extreme southern coastal Maine, southeast New Hampshire, much of Massachusetts and Connecticut, areas along Lake Ontario in western New York, extreme southern New York, southeastern Pennsylvania and much of New Jersey. Other locations are now past peak.
Leaf drop is moderate to high where color is peak and high to nearly complete where fall color has passed peak.
If you are planning a trip this fall, now is the time to make reservations! Find great accommodations in our Places to Stay and Foliage Spotters sections.
