Report #2 - September 5, 2012 |
|
September 5, 2012
It is still early in the season, so not too much to report at this time. What little color there is can be attributed to trees in distress from the dry conditions this year. Trees in distress tend to shut down earlier than their healthy counterparts, resulting in early color. Other early color can be found on what we call "show-offs", or trees that show color early every year. However, these show-offs are far and few between. Here in the Capital Region of New York, I have observed that the green in many of the leaves is beginning to slowly fade. That can only mean that the hues of fall are not far behind.
If you are planning a trip this fall, now is the time to make reservations! Find great accommodations in our Places to Stay section.
