Surrounded by aspens,
willows, and hundred-year-old sugar maples, Historic Golden Maple Inn
sits alongside northern Vermont's classic trout stream, the Lamoille
River, in tiny Wolcott Village (pop. 200). Wolcott Village, chartered
in 1791, is located on the edge of Vermont's north-central highlands
known as the Northeast Kingdom...it is a region of tiny villages, trout
streams, mountains, valleys, fields and farms, truly a land of enchantment
and serenity. Golden Maple Inn (circa 1865) provides the flyfisher with
the perfect home base and private access to the Lamoille, only 50 paces
away, home to prolific hatches of mayflies, stoneflies and caddisflies.
Rainbow, Brook and Brown trout are all found and fought right behind
the Inn. Outstanding foliage surrounds the entire valley, and can be
viewed from many different locations.
