October 10, 2001 As peak conditions arrive, so to do higher amounts of leaf drop. This is due to the fact that the changed leaves, which no longer receive nutrients from the tree, eventually fall to the ground. A high degree of leaf drop is now being reported in much of northern Minnesota. The remainder of the region is still reporting low to moderate leaf drop. This information provided by Marek D.
