Foliage Report #15

October 24, 2001
Most of the region is now at or past peak conditions, as the 2001 foliage season draws to a close. All of Minnesota, and a majority of Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan are now past peak. Extreme southeast Wisconsin and most of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan and Ohio are at peak. A few isolated areas in Michigan and Ohio are not quite at peak, reporting high color change.

Leaf drop throughout the region is mostly high to nearly complete. Trees in portions of extreme northeast Minnesota have lost all of their leaves. Similar reports will soon become widespread as the trees prepare for winter.

This information provided by Marek D. Rzonca, The Foliage Network. The next report will be released Saturday, October 27, 2001.
