Much of the western half of the region is now reporting some degree of
change (very low color). Much of Michigan and Ohio are yet to report any
change. In Minnesota and Wisconsin, there have been reports of the maples
beginning to turn, with some of the leaves dropping. However, this behavior
is typical of distressed or diseased trees. The majority of the trees
are yet to begin their beautiful transition.
Leaf drop remains very low
to non-existent in the region (exept for the distressed trees mentioned
above).
This information was provided
by Marek D. Rzonca, The Foliage Network. The next report will be released
Wednesday, September 12, 2001.
