Foliage Report #7

September 26, 2001
The foliage in the upper Midwest is beginning to show moderate color as the hillsides and forests begin to show off their beatiful autumn colors. Central and northern sections of Minnesota and Wisconsin are reporting moderate color, or 31%-60% change. The balance of Minnesota and Wisconsin, along with Michigan, are experiencing low color. The exception being extreme southern Wisconsin, which joins a majority of Ohio with very low color.

Leaf drop continues to be very low for most of the upper Midwest, with some areas reporting low leaf drop. This is good news, especially for those areas reporting moderate color.

This information provided by Marek D. Rzonca, The Foliage Network. The next report will be released Saturday, September 29, 2001.
