October 30, 2002 The best foliage viewing can be found in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan and Ohio. Foliage color is high (61 to 80 percent) to peak in these areas. Peak conditions are also still holding on in southern Wisconsin and extreme southeast Minnesota. Leaf drop in Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan ranges from high to complete. In Ohio and the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, leaf drop is mostly moderate with high leaf drop in central Ohio. Here are some suggested driving routes. In the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, State Route 20 from Route 31 to Route 131. In Ohio: Route 20 from the Pennsylvania border to Cleveland; Route 44 from Mentor to Route 76.
