Foliage Report #3

September 10, 2003

A majority of the region is now displaying some degree of color change. Much of this early color is in young and distressed trees and those feeling the effect of a rather dry spring and summer. In western Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota, color change has eclipsed the 10 percent mark. Gradually, the lush and vibrant green pigment in the leaves will begin to fade, making way for the autumn colors. Watch for The Foliage Network reports throughout the fall to keep up to date with the latest foliage conditions.
