|
October 12, 2003 Much of Minnesota is now at the height of the foliage season, with peak conditions nearly statewide. Parts of northern Wisconsin and western portions of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan are also reporting peak color change. Elsewhere in the upper Midwest, moderate color abounds with only isolated areas still reporting color below 30 percent. Leaf drop is moderate in most areas reporting peak color. In northwestern Minnesota, leaf drop is now high, with 61 to 80 percent of leaves on the ground. In most of the region however, leaf drop is low.
