Great foliage can be found in much of Minnesota and western
Wisconsin. In these areas, moderate color (31% - 60% change)
can be found with high color (61% - 80% change) and peak conditions
in northern Minnesota. Michigan is also starting to show a bit
more color. In much of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and in the
northern Lower Peninsula, moderate color is being reported.
The same holds true for the Saginaw Bay area. Ohio is also beginning
to show a good deal of moderate color.
Here are some of the places to visit now for great foliage
displays.
Minnesota - Superior National Forest in extreme northeast Minnesota.
State Route 61. Chippewa National Forest in north-central Minnesota.
U.S. Route 2 (statewide). U.S. Route 59 from the Canadian Border
south to Fergus Falls. Duluth in northeast Minnesota.
Wisconsin - State Route 27 from Ojibwa to Cadott. State Route
29 from Chippewa Falls to Withee.
Leaf drop is mostly low across the region. There are some areas
however, where leaf drop is now moderate. These include the
areas reporting high color and some areas in the moderate color
range. In extreme northern Minnesota, leaf drop is high.
