Foliage Reports - Midwest United States

Foliage Report #9

October 1, 2005

A strong cold front moved through parts of the region late last week bringing some moderate rain and strong winds. Luckily, the impact on the leaves was minimal because many of the leaves were still green and more capable of withstanding the winds.

In northern Minnesota, there has been a color explosion, with many areas now reporting high color (61% - 80% change). In central Minnesota, northwest Wisconsin and parts of the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan, moderate color (31% - 60% change) is being reported. Elsewhere in the region, color change is very low to low.

Leaf drop is very low to low throughout the region.
