Foliage Report #8

September 30, 2006

The peak of the foliage season has arrived in much of the northern third of Minnesota where the beautiful colors of fall abound. Great foliage viewing can also be had in the rest of the northern half of Minnesota, northwest Wisconsin and the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan where the foliage color change is high. Elsewhere in the region, foliage change is mostly moderate to low with little to no change isolated to southwestern Ohio.

Leaf drop in northern Minnesota is moderate which is to be expected when the foliage color reaches peak levels. The remainder of the region has low to very low leaf drop.
