Foliage Reports - Midwest United States

Foliage Report #10

October 10, 2007

Cooler, more seasonable temperatures have again returned to the region. It appears that this is going to be one of those foliage seasons where there is no true peak. At this stage, there are many areas where some trees have completely turned and shed leaves while some remain green with little leaf drop. The warm temperatures likely played a role in this.

An abundance of fall color can be found in much of Minnesota, the northern two-thirds of Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. These areas are reporting high to peak color. High color change can also be found in northern portions of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Elsewhere in the region, foliage color is low to moderate.

Leaf drop is moderate where color is high to peak and low elsewhere.
