2000 Foliage Report #10

October 4, 2000
The foliage is approaching peak conditions in portions of northern New England. Northern Maine, northern New Hampshire, and northeastern Vermont are reporting high color (60% - 80% change). Also reporting high color are portions of the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains in New York, central Vermont, and the Berkshire Mountains in western Massachusetts. Moderate color has also spread through much of upstate New York and northern Pennsylvania. Expect areas now reporting high color to be at peak in the next week or so. The remainder of northern New York and northern New England should soon be at high color.

Leaf drop continues to be a non-factor in foliage viewing. Moderate leaf drop has been reported in northern Maine, portions of northern New Hampshire and Vermont, and sections of central Pennsylvania. All other areas in the Northeast are still reporting low leaf drop. Watch for upcoming foliage reports from The Foliage Network to keep up with autumn's spectacular colors!
