2000 Foliage Report #13

October 14, 2000
Some areas in the Northeast are now reporting past peak conditions. They include much of northern Maine, and portions of northern New Hampshire, northern Vermont, and the Adirondack Mountains in northeast New York. Elsewhere in the Northeast, peak foliage is the rule in central Maine, much of New Hampshire, Vermont, eastern sections of upstate New York, the Berkshire Mountains in western Massachusetts, and the Pocono Mountains in northeastern Pennsylvania. High and moderate color can be found in much of southern New England and western sections of New York and Pennsylvania. Southern New Jersey is still only experiencing low color change.

Moderate leaf drop has been observed in much of the Northeast. The only areas still reporting low leaf drop are northern Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire, central Connecticut, southeastern New York, much of New Jersey, and southeastern Pennsylvania. Watch for upcoming foliage reports from The Foliage Network to keep up with autumn's spectacular colors!
