2000 Foliage Report #17

October 28, 2000
Most of the Northeast has now past peak foliage conditions. The exceptions being portions of western and southeastern New York, eastern Massachusetts, southern Connecticut and Rhode Island, much of New Jersey, and most of southern Pennsylvania. These areas are experiencing either moderate color, high color, or peak conditions.

With the passing of peak conditions comes leaf drop. Much of northern Maine, and northern sections of New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York, and a small section extending from southern New York into northern Pennsylvania are reporting complete leaf drop. Elsewhere in the Northeast, many areas are seeing nearly complete leaf drop. Southern sections of the Northeast are experiencing moderate to high leaf drop. Watch for upcoming foliage reports from The Foliage Network to keep up with autumn's spectacular colors!
