2000 Foliage Report #3

September 9, 2000
This year's foliage season is progressing very slowly, with only very low color being observed in much of the Northeast. Coastal New Jersey, Long Island in New York, portions of southern New England, and parts of western Pennsylvania have yet to see any change. At this time last year, some areas of the Northeast were reporting moderate color, quite a difference from this season. The wet summer, which has resulted in healthy leaves and trees, may be the reason for the slow foliage color progression.

To this point, no significant leaf drop has occurred. Watch for upcoming foliage reports from The Foliage Network to keep up with autumn's spectacular colors!
