2000 Foliage Report
#8
September 27, 2000 With autumn now officially underway, the leaves are beginning to show more color throughout the Northeast. Moderate color is now being reported in north-central Maine, the White Mountains region in northern New Hampshire, the Northeast Kingdom in northeastern Vermont, the Adirondack Mountains in northern New York, the Catskill Mountains in southeastern New York, and portions of the Finger Lakes region in western New York. Much of the remaining areas of the Northeast are reporting low color. The next two weeks should feature ideal foliage viewing in much of upstate New York and inland regions of New England. Recent windy and rainy conditions brought down some of the leaves, however the Northeast is still reporting only low to very low leaf drop. Watch for upcoming foliage reports from The Foliage Network to keep up with autumn's spectacular colors!
