A majority of the Northeast is showing either moderate, high, or peak
color. At this point, anywhere you go in much of northern New England
and New York state will provide a great deal of fall foliage for viewing.
Peak conditions have spread across most of northwest Maine and also into
extreme northern New Hampshire, the Northeast Kingdom and portions of
central and southern Vermont, as well as the higher elevations of New
York's Adirondack Mountains. All of the Northeast is now reporting at
least 11%-30% change. Many of those readings are now isolated to southern
Pennsylvania, and most of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.
As the leaves approach peak,
the amount of leaf drop naturally increases. However, it is very encouraging
to see levels remaining in the moderate range given the amount of peak
conditions observed throughout much of the northern sections of the Northeast.
A majority of the region is still reporting low leaf drop.
