Foliage Report #17

October 31, 2001
Most of the Northeast has now past peak foliage conditions. The exceptions include a small area extending from extreme southern Maine, through southeast New Hampshire, southward into eastern Massachusetts, as well as coastal southern New England, downstate New York, southeastern Pennsylvania, and most of New Jersey, where foliage change is either high or at peak.

Recent windy weather has brought down many leaves throughout the Northeast. Leaf drop throughout the region is mostly nearly complete to complete. Complete leaf drop has been reported in much of northern New England and the higher elevations in New York. Coastal sections of southern New England, and the southeastern corner of the region are reporting moderate to high leaf drop.

This information provided by Marek D. Rzonca, The Foliage Network. The next report will be released Saturday, November 3, 2001.
