Foliage Report #19

November 7, 2001
While most of the Northeast has now past peak foliage conditions, there is still some color to be seen. The Boston & Cambridge and North of Boston regions of Massachusetts are hanging on to peak conditions. Extreme southern Connecticut, and New York, as well as the southern half of New Jersey and a sliver of southeastern Pennsylvania are also reporting high to peak color.

As most of the Northeast passes peak conditions, leaf drop continues to increase. Most of Maine, the northern half of New Hampshire, much of Vermont, the higher elevations of New York and New Jersey, northeastern and southwestern Pennsylvania, and portions of the Berkshires in Massachusetts have complete leaf drop. The remainder of the Northeast has mostly nearly complete leaf drop with isolated areas of high leaf drop.

This information provided by Marek D. Rzonca, The Foliage Network. The next report will be released Saturday, November 10, 2001.
