The foliage continues to progress in much of northern New England and
northern New York. There are now more widespread areas of high color,
and more of the Northeast Kingdom in Vermont is now at peak. Areas experiencing
high color change include portions of the Crown of Maine and much of the
Northeast Kingdom and central sections of Vermont. Locations in the Adirondack
and Catskill Mountains of New York are also experiencing pockets of high
color. The remainder of northern New England and northern New York are
experiencing moderate color. Central and southern New York, and most of
Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania
are reporting low or very low change.
Leaf drop in the Northeast
is now split between the very low and low range. A few isolated areas
of moderate leaf drop have been observed in the Adirondack and Catskill
Mountains of New York, north-central New Hampshire, and portions of the
Poconos of Pennsylvania.
