Foliage Reports Archive - 2003 Northeast United States |
| |
September 6, 2003 The very beginnings of fall color are emerging in much of northern New England, northern New York, portions of the southern tier of New York and some of the higher elevations in Pennsylvania. In these locations, some of the leaves are providing a sneak preview of the magnificent colors that will consume hillsides in the coming weeks. In extreme northern Maine and portions of southern Vermont, the color change is just over 10%. As mentioned in Report #1, the abundance of rain this Spring and Summer should provide for a fantastic foliage show this year. If you have not yet made your leaf-peeping travel plans, now is the time! Check out our Places to Stay and Foliage Spotters sections to find great accommodations!
