Foliage Reports Archive - 2003 Northeast United States |
|
September 13, 2003 The northern half of Maine is beginning to show some color, with moderate color far to the north. This marks the first report of moderate color (31 to 60 percent) in the Northeast. Low color (11 to 30 percent) change is also being reported in northwestern New Hampshire and portions of northern and southern Vermont. In another week or so, much of northern New England should be ablaze in foliage color! This weekend, the remnants of Hurricane Henri will move through the area bringing much cloudiness and scattered rain showers. The Northeast will also be watching Hurricane Isabel, a major Category 5 Hurricane, as it slowly moves west across the Atlantic Ocean. If you have not yet made your leaf-peeping travel plans, now is the time! Check out our Places to Stay and Foliage Spotters sections to find great accommodations! This information provided by Marek D. Rzonca, The Foliage Network. The next report will be released on Wednesday, September 17, 2003.
