Foliage Reports Archive - 2003 Northeast United States |
|
October 12, 2003 Having just returned from a trip through Vermont and New Hampshire, one word comes to mind...WOW! The foliage colors are spectacular this year! The foliage season has reached its height in much of northern Maine, northern New Hampshire, the Northeast Kingdom in Vermont and in the Adirondack Mountains in New York. High color change can be found in much of central Maine, central New Hampshire much of Maine and the higher elevations in New York State. Elsewhere in the Northeast, moderate color dominates with some low color hanging on mostly in coastal locations. Leaf drop is mostly low except for where the foliage has reached peak conditions. In those areas, the leaf drop is moderate. In the highest elevations of northern New Hampshire, leaf drop is high. Need a place to stay? Check out our Places to Stay and Foliage Spotters sections to find great accommodations! This information provided by Marek D. Rzonca, The Foliage Network. The next report will be released on Wednesday, October 15, 2003.
