Foliage Reports Archive - 2003 Northeast United States |
|
October 29, 2003 As October comes to a close, so too does the foliage season in much of the northern half of the Northeast. Much of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and eastern upstate New York have passed peak. Some foliage viewing remains in some coastal locations in Maine and southeastern New Hampshire where peak conditions continue. The same holds true for much of western New York, the Hudson Valley in New York and most of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. In southern New Jersey, southeastern Pennsylvania, Long Island and the lower Hudson Valley in New York, color change is high. Get out and enjoy what foliage remains before it's gone! Leaf drop across the Northeast is mainly moderate to high. Those areas reporting past peak conditions are noting nearly complete leaf drop. The highest elevations in New Hampshire, northern Maine and portions of Vermont have complete leaf drop. Need a place to stay? Check out our Places to Stay and Foliage Spotters sections to find great accommodations! This information provided by Marek D. Rzonca, The Foliage Network. The next report will be released on Saturday, November 1, 2003.
