The Northeast is preparing for soaking rains and moderate winds
from the remnants of Hurricane Frances. Thankfully, this is
happening at the onset of the foliage season rather than at
its height, when the leaves are more readily brought down by
such conditions.
In much of the Northeast, little to no color change dominates.
However, in portions of northern New Hampshire, northern Vermont
and northern New York, reports of low color (11% - 30% change)
have arrived. Soon, the lush green leaves will gradually fade
to a lighter shade of green before giving way to the fall colors.
Leaf drop throughout the Northeast is very low.
