September 24, 2005
The 2005 foliage season continues to progress more slowly than last year, especially in northern New England and northern New York. Last year, the mountains of northern New England and the Adirondacks in northern New York were already in the moderate color range. This year, however, those areas are still reporting low (11% - 30% change) color. Overall, the Northeast is a mix of low color and areas reporting little to no change.
Leaf drop in most areas is still very low, with some reports of low drop.
