Foliage Report #15

October 24, 2001
Foliage conditions along the Appalachian Mountains in West Virginia, sections of Virginia, and western Maryland have now past peak. Peak color continues to spread across the region, now engulfing the balance of West Virginia, much of western Virginia, and the western half of Maryland. Eastern sections of Maryland and Virginia, as well as the state of Delaware are reporting moderate to high color.

Leaf drop is mostly moderate to high in the region. The exceptions being the higher elevations in West Virginia, where leaf drop is nearly complete, and extreme southeastern Maryland, where low amounts of leaf drop prevail.

This information provided by Marek D. Rzonca, The Foliage Network. The next report will be released Saturday, October 27, 2001.
