Foliage Report #16

October 27, 2001
Much of West Virginia, extreme southwestern Virginia, and portions of central Virginia are now past peak. In fact, the region is almost divided equally into three stages of foliage change. The western third is past peak, the middle third is at peak, and the eastern third is at moderate and high color. Moderate color change is isolated to extreme southeast Virginia.

Leaf drop is mostly moderate to high throughout the region. Much of western West Virginia and southwest Virginia however, is reporting nearly complete leaf drop.

This information provided by Marek D. Rzonca, The Foliage Network. The next report will be released Wednesday, October 31, 2001.
