Foliage Report #9

October 3, 2001
The first reports of moderate color have been reported in the Southeast, more specifically, in the western mountains of Maryland. Elsewhere, low color is now more prevalent than very low color, as the foliage season slowly progresses. By next week, more moderate amounts of foliage change should be seen along the Appalachian Mountain chain.

Leaf drop has picked up near the eastern panhandle of West Virginia and portions of central Virginia, where the amount is now moderate. All other areas continue to report low to very low amounts of leaf drop.

This information provided by Marek D. Rzonca, The Foliage Network. The next report will be released Saturday, October 6, 2001.
