Reports Archive - 2002
Southeast United States |
October 2, 2002 The foliage change in the region continues to progress very slowly. Most of the region is reporting very low (1 to 10 percent) to low (11 to 30 percent) change. The exception being isolated areas in southeastern West Virginia and western Maryland, where moderate (31 to 60 percent) change has been observed. Unlike the Northeast and Midwest, where the change is anywhere between one to two weeks late, the southeast is progressing normally. The region will be on the lookout for the remnants of Hurricane Lili which may track up the eastern seaboard this weekend, bringing with it heavy rains and gusty winds. Leaf drop continues to be low to very low throughout the region. This information provided by Marek D. Rzonca, The Foliage Network.
