Now is the time to get out and enjoy the foliage in West Virginia, western Virginia, and western Maryland. Foliage color is high (61 to 80 percent) to peak in these areas. Elsewhere in the region, foliage color remains moderate (31 to 60 percent) to high (61 to 80 percent).

Leaf drop in most of the region low to moderate, with high leaf drop in some of the areas reporting peak.

Some suggested scenic drives include the following. In Maryland: Route 219 running north to south in western Maryland; Route 135 from Bloomington to Altamont. In West Virginia: Route 219 from Silver Lake to Elkins; Route 72 from Hambleton to Red Creek; Route 33 from Elkins to Harman. In Virginia: Route 220 from the West Virginia border to Warm Springs.
