Foliage Report #11

October 8, 2003

Moderate (31 to 60 percent) color continues to spread in the mountains of western Maryland, northeast West Virginia and portions of west-central Virginia. Moderate color is also showing up in eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina in the Great Smoky Mountains. This year's foliage change is a bit behind normal, most likely attributed to the abundant rain that has fallen in the region this year.
