Moderate (31 to 60 percent) color continues to spread in the mountains of western Maryland, much of West Virginia and portions of west-central Virginia. Moderate color is also showing up in eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina in the Great Smoky Mountains. The first reports of high color (61 to 80 percent) have arrived from the mountains of West Virginia.
