November 5, 2003 Fall colors abound across the Southeast with color change ranging from moderate to peak color in most locations. The higher elevations of West Virginia, portions of western Virginia along the West Virginia border, and western Maryland have passed peak. The foliage show is nearly over for many areas of the Great Smokey and Bald Mountains in eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina. Great foliage viewing can still be found though in much of Virginia, southwestern West Virgninia, central and eastern Maryland, central and western North Carolina and much of Tennessee. Get out and enjoy before the show is over! Leaf drop is mostly high throughout the region. In much of West Virginia, leaf drop is nearly complete. Looking for a place to stay? Check out our Places to Stay and Foliage Spotters sections to find great accommodations! This information provided by Marek D. Rzonca, The Foliage Network. The next report will be released on Saturday, November 8, 2003.
