Foliage Report #6

September 18, 2004

The remnants of Hurricane Ivan battered the region with high winds, thunderstorms, tornadoes and flooding rains. At this point, the extend of the damage to the trees is unknown. While some areas probably did receive considerable tree damage, it is unlikely that the entire area has suffered a major setback.

Foliage color continues to progress in the mountains of West Virginia and extreme western Maryland. Leaf drop is very low to low throughout the region.
