Fall color continues to slowly progress in the
region. In the higher elevations of northeastern West Virginia
and extreme western Maryland, high color (61% - 80% change)
reigns. The balance of eastern West Virginia is experiencing
moderate color (31% - 60% change). The same holds true in
the western panhandle of Maryland, parts of the mountains
of Virginia and North Carolina.
Here are some of the places to visit now for
great foliage displays.
West Virginia - Much of Tucker County including Thomas, WV
(along U.S. Route 219).
Maryland - The extreme southwest corner of the
western panhandle. U.S. Route 219. Leaf drop is mostly low
throughout the region. In parts of northern West Virginia
and western Maryland the leaf drop is moderate.
