The weather in much of the region has been unseasonably warm the last few days with more heat forecasted. That is certainly not helping the foliage to progress. However, there are many reports of the lush green leaves beginning to fade, a sign that the chlorophyll (green pigment) is no longer being produced. Gradually, over the coming weeks, the chlorophyll will disappear, allowing the spectacular colors of fall to take over.
Leaf drop is mostly very low with a few patches of low drop.
