Temperatures have continued to be well above normal throughout the region. As a result, the foliage is very slow to begin changing throughout the region. The only area with any appreciable change is in northeast West Virginia where moderate color (31% - 60% change) is being reported. Typically at this point, many of the higher elevations along the Appalachian Chain should be in the moderate to high color range. However this year, they remain in the low color (11% - 30% change) range. Hopefully, cooler temperatures will soon move in to promote foliage change.
Leaf drop is very low to low throughout the region.
