The higher elevations in West Virginia and western Virginia are showing peak (if it can be called that) color including the popular Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. This year is a very strange year in that the trees were very out of sync with one another. As a result, there won't be a true peak in most areas. Instead, there will a mix of trees showing complete color along side those that are still entirely green. Elsewhere in the region, foliage color is moderate to high.
Leaf drop is mostly moderate across the region with high leaf drop in the higher elevations of northern West Virginia.
