Foliage Report #10

October 7, 2006

The Appalachian Mountains are beginning to show moderate color (31% - 60% change), especially in the higher elevations. If you are driving through the mountainous areas, you will notice a large variation as you traverse valleys and hills. The valleys will have very little change while the mountaintops will be aglow with the colors of fall.

Leaf drop is a non-factor at this stage of the foliage season.
