Now is a great time to get out and see the foliage in much of the region. From western Maryland westward to eastern Tennessee, high to peak color is widespread. Eastern portions of Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina are in the moderate color range. The same holds true for western Tennessee. The only reports of past peak conditions are from the highest elevations in eastern West Virginia.
Leaf drop is low to moderate in most locations. The exceptions are the places past peak in West Virginia where leaf drop is high.
