Stowe/Smuggler's Notch
|
It's true, in the Stowe-Smuggler's Notch Region the hills are
alive with the sounds of gaiety, not only during Winter's reign but throughout the entire
year. In this premier recreation area are the Mount Mansfield (where the first ski chair
lift was used in New England in 1940), Smugglers' Notch and Stowe Mountain resorts for all types of winter
activities and summer activities including a 2300 foot Alpine Slide, and Gondola rides up
Mount Mansfield for breathtaking views of the surrounding locale. There are also 14 covered
bridges in the region, more than any other region in Vermont.
The region is also the home of The Old Farmer's Almanac, printed every year since
1792.

Islands and Farms
|
The Islands and Farms Region is comprised of the
mainland and three main islands--Grand Island, North Hero, and Isle La Motte, which
are accessible by car from the mainland over bridges and causeways. The mainland's
terrain changes from the sandy shores of Lake Champlain through rolling hills and
farmland to the distant mountains. Back country roads, excellent dining, great
shopping, history, culture and other activities for all four seasons. Hiking,
biking,swimming, fishing, golfing to ice fishing, skating,skiing, and ice climbing.
One can simply enjoy Nature or fill your day(s) with other activities. It's all up
to you.

Lake Champlain Valley
|
The Lake Champlain Valley Region borders Lake
Champlain's midsection with miles and miles of wonderful beaches and shoreline. All
sorts of water sports (sailing, fishing, windsurfing) are available in the summer
and ice fishing and ice skating are popular in winter. The waterfront area contains
the Burlington Bike Path for biking, hiking, and jogging and features a new
Burlington Skate Park for skate boarding, in-line skating, and biking. For the
outdoor adventurer, mountain and lake resorts abound with trails, camping facilities
and other outdoor activities within 25 miles.

Central Vermont
|
The Central Vermont Region is a relaxed area of what
one thinks Vermont is all about. It is New England and America the way things used

The Mid Vermont for All Seasons Region has a varied
landscape from the easterly Green Mountains where hiking and ski trails and forest

The Crossroads of Vermont has the many offerings of
the state's second largest city and the privacy and quietude of the peaceful towns
and villages. Vermont's second largest mall is in Rutland providing shopping for all

riding, sailing, swimming, water skiing, fishing, and best in the East downhill and
cross-country skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing at Killington and Pico Peak ski

Southern Windsor County is rich in history with the
town of Windsor noted as the "Birthplace of Vermont". The region is also rich in
