Fort
Constitution Historic Site in New Castle - Located on
the northeast corner of New Castle Island. One of seven
forts built to protect Portsmouth Harbor.
Wentworth-Coolidge
Mansion Historic Site in Portsmouth - Former home of
New Hampshire's first royal governor, Benning Wentworth.
The 40-room mansion is one of the most outstanding homes
remaining from the colonial era. Limited hours during foliage
season.

Seacoast
Science Center - The Center is situated on 330
acres, on which you can view seven coastal habitats, or
visit the many trails and the picnic area.
Scenic Drives
American
Independence Byway - This scenic byway begins by going
west on State Route 101E. Turn north on State Route 27 into
Hampton. Continue on State Route 27 to State Route 108,
which takes you south of Exeter. Head east on State Route
150 and join State Route 84 (soon after Kensington). Take
US Route 1 north to the end of the byway (when you hit State
Route 101E). 21 miles.
Coastal
Byway - The north end of this 18 mile byway starts in
Portsmouth. From here, head south on State Route 1A until
you reach the terminus at State Route 286.
