Attractions

Covered Bridges
  • Buskirk Covered Bridge in Cambridge built in the mid-1800's, a 160-foot, single span wooden bridge over the Hoosic River.
  • Covered bridge at the Eagle Mills Cider Company in Broadalbin.
  • Rexleigh Covered Bridge in Salem built in 1874, a 107-foot long covered bridge.

Historic Sites

Locations
  • Saratoga Springs known for its reputed health-giving waters, over 1000 Victorian homes in the Historic District, and for the thoroughbred horse racing in Jul-Aug that had its start in 1863.
  • Schenectady Stockade Area; a National Historic Landmark. Self-guided walking tour through historic homes and early Dutch Settlement.

Museums
  • Albany Institute of History & Art features permanent and changing exhibits on five centuries of Albany and Upper Hudson Valley art, culture and history.
  • National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs is a National Historic Landmark dedicated to American dance. Hall of Fame notes contributors to the art of dance.
  • National Museum of Racing & Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs features 300 years history of horse racing. Hall notes individuals contributing to the sport.
  • New York State Museum in Albany features exhibits on the Adirondack wilderness, New York City metropolis, and American Indians of NY. Recently acquired Fire Engine #6, crushed when the World Trade Center collapsed, to serve as a tribute to the victims of the WTC debacle.
  • Waterveliet Arsenal Museum in Waterveliet is nation's oldest active arsenal. Built in 1813, it continues producing large caliber weapons. Displays cannon and other military equipment dating back to the 1500's.

  • Cherry Plain State Park in Cherry Plain; a pleasant park in the woods of the Taconic Valley. Beach, bath house, picnicking, boating, fishing, hiking, biking.
  • Grafton Lake State Park in Grafton on forested ridge between the Taconic and Hudson Valleys. Boating, fishing, picnicking, swimming, nature trails.
  • Saratoga Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs on National Register of Historic Places. 2200-acres and home to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, summer home to the NY City Ballet and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Mineral water springs and baths
